The call of the open road is a lure hard to resist for many. If you ride a motorcycle, the opportunity to load up your gear and head down the road to a rally is always fantastic. And, with numerous bike rallies across the U.S., there is always somewhere new to check out or revisit. Whether looking for a family-friendly rally or an adults-only location, you will find the perfect rally for your interests. The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally may be the largest, but Laconia’s Motorcycle Week is the oldest. And there are plenty in between.
Top Motorcycle Rallies in the U.S.
Hogrock
While many bike rallies are family-friendly, this one is not. Held annually in Cave in Rock, Illinois, Hogrock features a huge center stage where music and entertainment take place non-stop. With vendors, contests, racing opportunities, karaoke, and more, you won’t get bored or wonder why you came.
One Moto Show
If crowds aren’t your thing, then head out to Portland, OR for the OMS. Each February, bikers head to the Veterans Memorial Coliseum for music, a chance to meet up with other bikers, indulge in great food and coffee (it is Portland!), and see fantastic custom bikes. Although the One Moto Show is a relative newcomer to the motorcycle rally world, it has quickly gained recognition as the best custom motorcycle show in the world.
Daytona Bike Week
For more than 40 years, bikers have headed to Daytona for Bike Week. Held each year in March, Daytona Bike Week is comparable to Sturgis in crowd size, drawing bikers from all directions. While in Daytona, you can take in concerts, attend demonstrations and seminars teaching ways to improve your bike as well as your gear, join in on rides, try regional BBQ, and since it’s Florida, soak up some sun at Daytona Lagoon water park with its water slides, go-karts, laser tag, and other family fun.
Laconia Motorcycle Week
Since 1916, Laconia, New Hampshire, has been a favorite place for motorcyclists and their families. It is the oldest motorcycle rally in the U.S. and is home to one of the best dirt tracks around. LMW offers a myriad of opportunities for racing and rides. Should you bring the family along, everyone can enjoy the fun as they participate in live music, big-screen viewings, great food, and even a Kid Zone. And while you are there, be sure to visit vendors such as AMSOIL, American Iron Outfitters, Harley- Davidson, Indian, and many others.
Four Corners Motorcycle Rally
Are you looking for an excuse to take your cycle through the mountains? Then this is the rally for you! The Four Corners Motorcycle Rally is so named because it is near the Four Corner Monument where Arizona, Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico meet. Near Mesa Verde National Park and the San Juan National Forest, visiting here brings stunning scenery and all the fun of a rally. With an assortment of races to compete in (or just watch), bike shows, scenic and historic rides, industry vendors, and regional foods to tantalize the taste buds, this is a rally you don’t want to miss!
Sturgis Motorcycle Rally
No list of motorcycle rallies would be complete without listing Sturgis. As one of the most well-known rallies, Sturgis is a favorite for many bikers. Boasting more than 500,000 people each year, Sturgis is also the biggest annual motorcycle event. While there, be sure to visit Mylo. As an AMSOIL retailer at Sturgis, Mylo will have his Lifetime Oil mobile store onsite. Swing by to ensure your bike has what is needed, so it is ready to roll for the rides, events, and more to be enjoyed at Sturgis.
If you have never gone to a bike rally, now is the time to do so. Whether it’s talking shop with other bikers in Daytona, enjoying the music, food, and contests in Oregon, or picking up new gear and talking AMSOIL products with Mylo, a bike rally is a great experience! What are you waiting for? It’s time to load up and roll off to the next adventure!
